Community Garden

P.E.E.R. is working with the community to implement area gardens on empty lots and spaces in the South East Lake community. For the 2009 year, the community gardeners planted small production gardens around church grounds (at East Lake UMC). Produce from these gardens were donated to area feeding agencies.

Currently, P.E.E.R. is working with community leaders to acquire property for a garden where neighbors can have a plot and grow their own food. We are also working with area schools to assist them in planting gardens on their own sites.
