Step Up is an after-school enrichment program that started in the spring of 2009. Offered through a partnership between P.E.E.R., Inc. and East Lake UMC, this program reaches out to third and fourth grade students at Barrett Elementary. As part of this program, students receive one-on-one reading and homework help and take part in nutritious cooking classes, exercise with jump ropes, learn life skills from gardening projects, and take time to create through numerous art projects.
